An EFP is an assessment voluntarily prepared by a farm family to increase their environmental awareness in up to 23 different areas on their farm.\u00a0A few years ago, it was decided to give the program its own identity and David asked me to be part of his team. The logo (top left) reflects the goal of each EFP \u2013 to provide family farms with what they need to improve the sustainability of their farming practices in all the aspects of sustainable farming \u2013 taking care of the soil, the water, the air, and the biodiversity of wildlife. The parallel stripes resemble the distinctive pattern created on the land when it is tilled. Together they form a shape now referred to as the &#8216;bird&#8217; (an indicator of a healthy environment). Blue represents the water and the air; green \u2013 the biodiversity, and brown \u2013 the soil.<\/p>\n<p>The workbook (bottom left) gets updated every few years. We&#8217;re on edition 4.0.
