Globally, Inter Pares works with organizations engaged in building a more equitable world. As a contract designer with David Berman Communications, I have been part of the Inter Pares’ communication team for over 12 years. My first project with them was their Annual Report (English and French). The report has maintained the same format ever year (with the exception of their 30th anniversary) – three, 2-sided panels (15″h x 8.5″w), folded down to 3.75″h x 8.5″w for mailing in a #10 envelope. This structure, combined with text heavy content and two panels dedicated to lists of names and numbers, is always challenging to a) fit it all in, and b) make visually engaging and easy to read. Yet every year we have been able to achieve both. The process always begins with hearing their vision for the report and evolves into a back and forth of layouts until we settle on one that works. It’s a rewarding experience and it’s always a pleasure to work with them.
