Federations Magazine, Look & Feel
Federations Magazine, Look & Feel

The Forum of Federations is the leading network and most valued resource in the practical application of federalism worldwide and has partnerships with the majority of federal countries and organizations active in strengthening federal governance. To contribute to the fulfillment of one of its strategic objectives – to increase global awareness and knowledge of federalism by sharing information – David Berman Communications was hired to redesign the look & feel of its magazine Federations. The magazine is one of the organization’s primary communication vehicles, with four issues per year. The other is their website, which we also redesigned. The redesign of both the magazine and the website was to heighten interest in the organization and strengthen its relationship with its stakeholders as well as convey to potential clientele that it is a mature, dynamic, and reliable organization that can be counted on to deliver.

Our mandate was 1) to design three layout options for several typical pages (outside and inside covers, table of contents, two page spreads for the news and special sections, and a department page, e.g. the President’s Page) 2) once approved, to produce the first full issue (36 pages, self cover, English and French) and, 3) to provide their in-house graphic designer with templates.
